Get a third part email gateway and setup a rule to forward mail to the SMS phone. That's what I do.

There is also a tool in the Sandbox I believe that allows you to SMS enable notes databases. Also many phone companies have sms email gateways straight to peoples mobile phones example I have mynumber@sprintpcsmessaging.com so all email can go there. I have also seen the same for ATT and verizon etc. For the US gateways I have posted the ones I used in an app a couple of years ago. I would also search google for SMS email, there seem to be lots of email gateway solutions.

SprintPCS = number@messaging.sprintPCS.com
ATT = number@mobile.att.net
Bell Atlantic, now verizon I think number@msg.myVZw.com
Omnipoint number@omnipoint.net
Voicestream = number@voicestream.net
Verizon =number@msg.myVZw.com
